About anyone know the best way to travel from Baltimore,MD to Windsor, ON

Travel savvy? Anyone know the best way to travel from Baltimore,MD to Windsor, ON?
Flying is just under $900 roundtrip so thats not an option. I can drive the 550 miles. What about busses or trains? Any ideas from experienced travelers would be appreciated

I always liked taking my car anywhere. You can stop when you want and you get to see a lot more.

By train, you have two choices: 1.) Baltimore to New York City on Amtrak, then New York City to Aldershot, Ontario on the Amtrak-VIA Rail Canada Maple Leaf and then Aldershot to Windsor on VIA Rail Canada. You would cross the border aboard the Maple Leaf at Niagara Falls. Not sure if this could be done in a single day or not. 2.) Baltimore to New York City on Amtrak, then New York City to Toledo and an Amtrak chartered bus from Toledo to Detroit. From Detroit, you would need to grab a taxi over to Windsor. I don't know about bus routes, but they would involved similar connections.

About why isn't Baltimore listed under the Travel Question section

Why isn't Baltimore listed under the Travel Question section?
This isn't fair. I want to contact ACORN about getting us registered!

Baltimore is one of the top major cities. Plus you dont see many travel questions about Baltimore. This isnt a travel related question anyway All you need to do is use Yahoo.com and search ACORN http://www.acorn.org/
2 :
Yes, ACORN could overnight triple, quadruple, or even more the number of tourists "registered" as visiting Baltimore! ACORN could also add to the city's attractions by starting child sex slavery businesses!! That would turn Baltimore around.
3 :
No offence but I guess Baltimore is not that popular.
4 :
Maybe because it's too close to Washington and the sections would tend to overlap.

About what are some cheap ways to get to Baltimore

What are some cheap ways to get to Baltimore?
I'm currently attending college in Towson and I want to go home for Labor Day because I'm already homesick. There is a bus that will take me round trip for only $35 leaving from what I believe is the Baltimore Travel Plaza but I have no means of getting there. I'm willing to take a taxi if there is no cheaper (and reasonably simple) way of getting there, but I'd like some other options. Believe me, I considered walking, however that would take approximately three hours.

By foot.

Looking at the map, it appears that MTA local buses #8, #11, and #12 all go from Towson into downtown Baltimore where you can connect to other buses, trains, and the light rail. The fare is $1.60.

I would take the El train. I wouldn't walk unless you know what kind of neighborhood it is.

As soon as you get to 10th and Filbert, look around for a really big guy with a baseball bat. He'll help you the rest of the way.

Greyhound and Peter Pan offer several buses daily from their main depot downtown and the Baltimore Travel Plaza in Dundalk to the Port Authority in NYC. Expect to pay about $40-50 each way for a ticket. A new service, Baltimore Trails, offers round-trip service from several area locations to midtown Manhattan for $35 -- Also try the Dragon Coach, which drops you off in Chinatown, but costs about half as much. Check www.greyhound.com, www.peterpan.com, and www.1stravel.com for details. 2. The Hunt Valley Motor Coach offers coach service for day trips to New York from stops in Pikesville and Security for about $45. Your travel options are limited by their schedule -- they leave Baltimore early in the morning and depart from New York early in the evening -- but for a quick trip it's not a bad deal. See www.huntvalleymotorcoach.com for details. 3. If you want to get there fast, you can hop on an Amtrak train at Penn Station in downtown Baltimore and get off in New York a couple hours later. It's considerably pricier than the bus, but quicker and much more comfortable. Check www.amtrak.com for fares and schedules. From NY City to White Plains... http://mta.info/mnr/html/mnrmap.htm

the direction is up not down and yes you can take amtrack to NYC and then take Metro North train to White Plains
3 :
Take Amtrak to NYC and get off at Pennsylvania Station. Take the subway shuttle from that train station to Grand Central Station, which is a different train station. Take the Metro North to White Plains.
