Where in Charles County? Anyway, it looks like the 905 and the 907 on this page run to destinations in Charles County from downtown DC. http://www.mtamaryland.com/services/commuterbus/schedulesSystemMaps/ You can go from Baltimore to Washington on the MARC train. One runs from Camden Yards and the other from the Amtrak station. They go to Union station in DC. You're going to have to take Metro in DC to get to one of the places where these buses stop.

Your best bet is to probably take a train from Baltimore down to Union Station in DC. Then, take the Metro (subway) to one of the Metro bus stops that service Charles County. I think that the DC buses run as far as Waldorf and/or Indian Head. Not sure about the rest of the county.

give them something 2 play with or ignore them

What is a "Chinese bus?" I have never seen or heard of any buses that supply car seats. You need to ask the bus company your specific questions. You would be farmore comfortable on Amtrak
3 :
Unless you've paid for a separate seat, you'll most likely be carrying the child for the trip (which may or may not even be legal). That's because at those cheap fares that the Chinatown buses charge, they have to sell every seat. Buses do not supply car seats. Your best bet would be to have someone give you a lift in a car or drive yourself.

Wow...I do not envy you. As far as car seats go, you really should check with the bus company. I flew with my toddler recently, and was surprised to learn that they encouraged parents to use car seats on the plane. I am sure the bus company will be able to answer that better than any of us. Wildedisons.com has some tips for long car trips with toddlers. Some things might apply to bus trips too. Go to: http://www.wildedisons.com/333/long-car-trips-alone-with-a-toddler-some-tips/

Depends how fast you drive

It does depend how fast you drive and where exactly you are traveling from and to. However, a more HELPFUL answer is approximately 3 hours. :)

It depends on how you drive and when. The loop around Baltimore DC area sucks. Avoid rushhour. It shouldnt take more than 3-4 hours given good conditions. Avoid trying to get into NY on Sunday evenings in the Summer. The people coming back from the Jersey Shore crowd the roads.
