on a plane about how long would it take to travel from baltimore, maryland to new york city?

1 hr considering take off/landing. maybe lil less.

The fastest way from balitimore to New York would be asleep

about an hour on a plane and its about a 4 hour drive.

I looked up Southwest schedule and from BWI to Long Island it takes 1 hour. So that should give you an idea.

one hr on plane 2 hrs waiting 1hr in taxi so drive at speed limit 3 hr 40min

It really depends on what type of plane. Also, it is approximately a four hour drive, so consider this, show up at the airport two hours before departure. If it leaves on time, it will take you and hour by commercial flight., then you must depart the plane and get your luggage, plus get transportation to your destination (a rental car) It would be my guess renting a car from the get go, can save you money even if you count the cost of gas. It may say an hour on a plane but in real time you get there in no longer then 35 minutes.

I flew from Baltimore to JFK to catch a flight to Greece - the actual flight took 30-35 minutes. Even with the check-in, even Amtrak wouldn't beat you to NYC.
