About Where should we visit/stop if we travel by car from Baltimore MD to Nashville TN

Where should we visit/stop if we travel by car from Baltimore MD to Nashville TN?
We are planning on taking a road trip from Baltimore MD to Nashville next month. Does anyone have any recommendations on places to visit or site see? We want this to be a leisurely drive to take in the sites and visit cool places. Also, what is there cool to do in the Nashville area? Thanks!

You could stop at Luray Caverns in Virginia. Monticello is very pretty too.

There are lots of things to do in Nashville. I'm going to assume you're into country music? You could visit the Country Music Hall of Fame (I'm pretty sure it's open again since the floods). You can go down broadway and find a lot to do. Go down to the riverfront, I think they have these duck tours you can take that allow you to go out on the Cumberland River that runs through Nashville, but I myself have not done it. As for restaurants I would check out the Blue Bird Cafe its really popular I've heard. As for malls Opry Mills is closed cause of flood damage but there is Green Hills Mall, Rivergate Mall, and if you take 65 down to Franklin you have Cool Springs Mall. Sorry I couldn't answer the first part of your question but I hope you enjoy Nashville! Here's a link you might want to check out--http://www.visitmusiccity.com/visitors/index

Take the Blue Ridge Parkway at least part of the way, and stop at the points of interest along it. It is very pretty and relaxing. Mainly, just stay off the interstates and you will see the real sights, little shops, mom-and-pop restaurants, wildlife, etc.

About what is the best way to travel from Manhattan to Baltimore by train

What is the best way to travel from Manhattan to Baltimore by train?
We are making our first trip to NYC and will leave there to visit family in Maryland. The only rail travel that we can find is on Amtrack. Is there a better way? Is there a way better than by rail?

Amtrak is not only the only practical way, its probably the cheapest. You MIGHT save a few bucks by taking a greyhound bus, but trust me, its not worth it at all. Go Amtrak.
2 :
Amtrak is the only way to do it by rail.
3 :
I have taken Greyhound before and it's not only affordable but it's not as bad as you might think. Some stations in Maryland have direct routes from New York's Port Authority and it takes around four hours depending on exactly where you are going. Amtrak is expensive, but somewhat faster and somewhat more convenient, but it's really a toss-up. Just make sure you get to the bus or train station well in advance of your departure time. There is heavy security at the Amtrak station, and there are lots of people in line at the Greyhound station, plus it's hard to find your way around the Port Authority station in New York.

There's air, there's rail, there's the bus, there's driving up I-95. Personally, if I wasn't driving, I'd probably elect Amtrak. Seems easy, direct, affordable.
5 :
Amtrak Metroliner, all the way.

About Besides driving, what is the easiest way to travel to Baltimore from Philly and back

Besides driving, what is the easiest way to travel to Baltimore from Philly and back? I don't want to drive!!
I am going on vacation with a friend who lives in Baltimore. We are flying from Baltimore. I really don't feel like driving there and I definitely won't feel like driving back after a week-long vacation. I live just outside of Philly. I'm not extremely familiar with public transportation and I don't want to impose on family or friends to take me to and from the train station, etc. Any suggestions/advice/tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Take care! I need to do this by myself. I drive but don't want to drive to Baltimore. Where can I park my car????

Amtrak. Runs from Baltimore Penn Station to Philadelphia.
2 :
You can take Amtrak between those two cities and then use the bus or subway to get home. I think the Acela even runs between those two cities.
3 :
Definitely take the train! You could take a bus, but on the train you can get up and move around.
4 :
Public transportation is nothing to be afraid of. You can drive to Philly's 30th St. Station and park for a week - just be prepared to pay $100 or so. Take Amtrak train from Philly to BWI Airport station. Take shuttle bus from train station to airport terminal (for example, Southwest). Have your friends meet you at the Southwest terminal (or any other carrier you're using). More info at: http://www.bwiairport.com After your vacation, take the shuttle bus from the airport back to the BWI train station and take the Amtrak train back to Philly. Pay the $100 for parking and drive back to where you live. No imposing on your friends or family.

Walking
2 :
I agree... Steven Wright says...".. everywhere is walking distance if you have the time..." : )
3 :
Leave the driving to Grayhound! It's cheap and easy.
4 :
amtrak train..just get the business class cab cause the coach is a little dirty for my taste.it takes a little longer..but hey you can buy beer and food on the train and its cheap.
5 :
Cycling may be the cheapest. Walking could also be cheap but you would possibly need to eat food on the way or stop somewhere overnight which would probably cost money.
6 :
bus
7 :
I live in Baltimore. The best way is to travel is by car, using I-95 South. Consult www.mapquest for directions and times etc!
8 :
There is AMtrak train service, there are Marc commuter trains, or you can take a bus. The Bus station in DC is just a few blocks north of Union Station (trains) just off North Capitol St. Your best bet on a Sunday is probably the bus or Amtrak.
9 :
the MARC train
10 :
take the Metro
11 :
On a Sunday, Greyhound and Amtrak are your only options. The train and bus both go to Union Station in D.C., where you can pick up the Metro from there.
12 :
M-F MARC TRAIN 10.00$ SAT-SUN AMTRACK/ GREYHOUND 35$

About which is the best way to travel from Baltimore to New York

Which is the best way to travel from Baltimore to New York?
I am going to take a trip to USA, and I will need to travel from Baltimore to New York, which is the best way to do it? airplane, bus, taxi ... etc.

taxi is the quickest
2 :
Airplane may be the best way because driving and the cost of gas is expensive.
3 :
My, what a bunch of bad answers. Amtrak runs frequent trains from Baltimore to New York. It's the fastest and most comfortable way to go. You can fly, but it's not any faster door to door. Buy your ticket ahead of time on the Amtrak web site to get a good price. Bolt Bus and Megabus (same company as Megabus UK) run buses that are cheaper, sometimes much cheaper, but slower and less comfortable than the train.. See their web sites for details.
4 :
Amtrak. Their Acela train is faster and more expensive than regular Amtrak. See the Amtrak website for details.
